MTTD (Mean Time to Detect)
The average time it takes to detect a problem or failure in a system.
Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) measures the average duration between when a problem starts and when the team becomes aware of it. A lower MTTD means your monitoring and alerting systems are catching issues faster. MTTD is closely related to MTTR — you can't start fixing an incident until you know about it. Good uptime monitoring and alerting tools help reduce MTTD significantly.
